On April 30th, 2016, Poiema Productions will be holding our 3rd Annual Fashion For Freedom event.
The event will be taking place at City Life in Leduc and will include food, beverages, silent auction, entertainment and an innovative fashion show competition. This year, the theme is "Around the World," in which each designer will choose a country and design two designs, one avant guard and one couture piece based off the styles, colours and textures popularised by the country of choice. Designs will then be judged based on creativity, execution and "wow" factor.. There will be a prize for the winning designer.
Brand new for 2016, we are excited to be designing a Fashion For Freedom magazine that will include articles about the organization, information about our sponsors, a list of upcoming events around the city, photos of every design in the competition and information on the designers.
Each designer will have two pieces displayed in runway shows. Due to high demand, live at the end of the show, we will be auctioning off the top 3 designs. The remaining designs will be available for silent auction in the lobby after the show. All proceeds from the entire event will go to the chosen charity.
There will be a non-refundable fee of $30 for the chosen designers. This fee will cover your admission into the event, food, and a copy of the Fashion For Freedom magazine.

Show I: Avant Garde
1 accessory worn with all blacks
(Please keep in mind the judges will be looking for creative and abstract pieces. Large-scale items that can be seen from far away are recommended, ie: hats, ties, arm pieces, shoes, shawls, etc.)
Show II: Couture
(The models should be wearing nothing but your designed outfit. Undergarments and anything used under see-through materials will be allowed. Think over-the-top, runway-style, head-to-toe fashions.)
Designs will be judged on 3 categories:
*Please be tasteful with your designs and do not include nudity or provocative pieces. *Designers must be available to attend the event on April 30th, 2016 from 4:00pm-10:00pm. (Times may vary.) If you are unable to attend, please send someone to represent you and be in charge of your designs.
Models You are free to choose your own model(s) that will be wearing your designs or if you would prefer us to place you with a model, please let us know in the application form. We encourage all shapes, sizes and ages of models. We recommend choosing someone with confidence and a good stage presence, as this will only enhance your designs. If your pieces are male and female specific, you may use 2 separate models, but if both designs are for one gender, please use the same model.
Photos We are excited to have local professional photographers on board to help us make our FFF magazine a true work of art. You will be teamed up with one photographer who will photograph your designs on your model. The photographer has full creative reign over the shoot, using inspiration from your design, the organization, and their photographic style.
